Description |
Commemorative ribbon for the Rebekah branch of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (I.O.O.F). The ribbon features a wide, pink metal lapel pin with a prominent asymmetrical border. The pin includes the words "Rebekah Degree" written using green lettering along with the initials "I.O.O.F" written in between the two words. An illustration depicting three chain links has been woven around the initials. There are three satin ribbons connected to the lapel pin, two long and one short. The short ribbon is white and adorned with a depiction of two Canadian flags on a pole, positioned in a criss cross formation. The ribbon tapers to a point where a round, pink metal button has been pinned in place. The button is decorated with various symbols that include a dove, a beehive, a moon with stars all framed by two white floral stems. The main ribbon is long and pink with two vertical green stripes on either side. The words "Mayflower Rebekah. Lodge No. 324. Mooretown, Ont." are written near the bottom of the ribbon using silver letters. The last ribbon is attached to the back of the badge. The ribbon is black and reads "In Memoriam" written in silver letters followed by a series of symbols consisting of a vase with flowers, a bee hive, a moon and stars along with a dove. Below, the words "Mayflower Rebekah. Lodge No. 324. Mooretown, Ont." are written using silver letters. The ribbon is trimmed with a white decorative fringe. |

This commemorative ribbon was worn by members of the Rebekahs which was a branch of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (I.O.O.F) reserved for women. This badge was given to members of Lodge No. 324 located in Mooretown. The black and silver ribbon was used to mourn the death of a member. |
