Description |
Red and white signature quilt depicting a large colonial lady in centre. The quilt features a red and white gingham border around the lady followed by a thick white border, with an off-white rectangular section at the bottom. Around the edge of the quilt is a red trim. The signatures on the quilt have been added using pen, the script is positioned diagonally. The quilting pattern itself consists of diamonds around the lady with diagonal lines on white and a single cable in gingham. The quilt is machine appliquéd and pieced. However, the back of the quilt is made of hand quilted white cotton. The edges are then turned and handstitched to finish, including prairie points along the bottom, left, and right sides. |
Provenance |
