Description |
Red and purple velvet ceremonial collar. The collar is adorned with four metallic gold stars, two on each collar leaf. On the left hand side, the initials "P.C.P" have been stitched using gold thread, along with a depiction of a pulpit and two criss-crossed canes. On the opposite side, the initials "P.C" are visible with a depiction of a star underneath. A silver trim has been added along with a silver metal fringe that follows the outer edge towards the chain clasp in the center. A set of three large chain links have been added to the opening of the collar with a clasp on the right hand side for closure. An additional piece of purple velvet has been attached to the neckline of the collar. This piece includes three gold stars with sequin adornments on each side along with a gold trim and gold metal fringe. The lining is made from a red cotton material. |

This item was used by members of the International Order of Odd Fellows during ceremonial events. The "P.C.P" initials on the collar possibly stand for "Past Chief Patriarch". A Chief Patriarch would have been the presiding Officer of an Encampment. The other initials, "P.G" could very well stand for "Past Grand". The Past Grand assisted the Noble Grand and lodge officers in every way possible. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is a Global Fraternal Organization with roots going back to 1730 London, England. The Odd Fellows Hall was located on 4230 Petrolia Line in Petrolia which is the present day location of Grandis Jewelers. |
