Orange and brown woven blanket. The blanket features ivory coloured accents and an ivory fringe along two sides. |
Provenance |
The material for this blanket was produced on the East 1/2 of Lot 1, Concession 14 of Enniskillen Township in the County of Lambton County in the early 1880s. The farm at that time was owned by Mr. Charles Taylor but was purchased in March, 1885 by Mr. Walter Strangway. The complete process, from the raising and shearing of the sheep for the wool to the finishing product, with the exception of dyeing the material, was carried out on the above mentioned property. This item was presented by the grandchildren of Walter Strangeway. |
