Description |
Tall slender green glass bottle with straight sides and an embossed letter label, 'Healy & Bigelow's Kickapoo Indian Oil'. The neck of the bottle narrows from the body and would have had a cork stopper. |
Provenance |
Donor and his father tore down a house back in the late 1960s in a subdivision on Hwy 81 between Strathroy and Delaware. Believed to be south east of Melbourne on or near Hwy 2. [Longwoods Road]. The house did not have a full basement and underneath the main floor in one area was an area that seemed to be where the owners tossed used bottles. Ten other bottles were found. The donor seems to remember a comment about Kickapoo brand being sold in South Western Ontario. Since the bottle was not in a "collection" the donor assumes it was consumed and the bottle disposed of in South Middlesex. |
