Description |
Large, whiskey bottle. The bottle is made of clear glass with a subtle metallic luster. The bottle is flat and rectangular in shape with rounded edges. On the front, there is a recessed rectangular shape where a paper label would have been placed. The neck of the bottle is long with three ridges, a defined rim and wide opening. On either side of the bottle, there is a faint seam that runs from the bottom towards the top. The interior of the bottle is filled with sand and dirt. |

This item was recovered by the commercial diver, Wayne Brusate during the excavation of the wreck of the Steamer Regina in 1986 under a permit from the State of Michigan, Department of Natural Resources. The Regina was discovered in Lake Huron near Port Sanilac, Michigan on July 1st, 1986 by Wayne Brusate, of Commercial Diving & Marine Services, Inc. The Regina was carrying a mixed cargo of merchandise and was lost with all members of the crew during the Great Storm of 1913. This item came to the Lambton Heritage Museum from the Great Lakes Maritime Institute. |
