Provenance |
In 1901 the Canadian Oil Refining Company was formed in Petrolia, Ontario. By 1908 it was bought and renamed, Canadian Oil Companies Ltd. The "Boy and Slate" logo, in use since 1917, was phased out beginning in 1939, being replaced with the newly designed rose. A competition was held for the design of the White Rose logo depicting the actual flower. In 1962 the company was bought by Shell Canada. |
