Embellished silver tray/plate with scalloped edging and floral design. The engraving on the center of the plate reads: "1/4 mile dash, 2nd prize, won by B.P Corey, St. Thomas, May 24th, 1893" surrounded by additional floral accents that resemble wheat. |

Silver tray/plate awarded to Bloss P. Corey for completing the 1/4 mile dash securing 2nd place in a bike race that took place in St. Thomas on May 24th, 1893. Bloss P. Corey was a captain of The Imperial Bicycle Club when it was formed in Petrolia in May 1892. Overtime, Corey became known as the County champion and was granted numerous awards. By 1895, he had become the club Vice President and was on the board of the board of the C.W.A. Racing Board for 1896-97 (Canadian Wheelman's Association) |
