Description |
a) Large metal bolt fitted with a washer and nut. The bolt is made of galvanized structural steel. The head of the bolt has been painted light grey and the washer appears to have been painted white. b) Small metal bolt fitted with a washer and nut. The bolt is made of galvanized structural steel. The head of the bolt has been painted a light grey. c - f) Four identical certificates of authenticity confirming the provenance of the bolts. |
Provenance |
These bolts were from the original 1938 span of the Bluewater Bridge. They were taken during the construction of the second span of the Bluewater Bridge which took place from 1996 - 1997. The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity reads: "It is hereby certified that this galvanized structural steel bolt is an authentic original of the souvenir campaign operation Blue Water Bridge Phase II, installed temporarily during the construction of the international span, the second Bluewater Bridge". |
