The cupboard was made by George Forbes who emigrated from Aberdeenshire, Scotland to Toronto around 1846. He was a carpenter who crafted furniture and coffins. He moved to Plympton Township in 1864. The cupboard was probably original used as a book shelf because of the adjustable shelves. George Forbes left this cupboard to his daughter, Elizabeth Forbes Grant (Neil Grant). |
