Description |
White Rose one gallon rectangular metal liquid belt - dressing oil can. The top of the can is yellow and the bottom is black. There is a white rose near the top of the can as well as the words "White Rose" in red lettering. In green lettering in the black section it says "Canadian Oil Companies, Limited." The sides have a list of other Canadian Oil Companies products. There is a handles and a twist cap on the top of the can. There is still oil inside the can. |

In 1901 the Canadian Oil Refining Company was formed in Petrolia, Ontario. By 1908, it was bought and renamed The Canadian Oil Companies Ltd. A competition was held for the design of the White Rose logo depicting the actual flower. The winner was Bill Templeton, an artist employed with the advertising firm, E.L. Ruddy of Toronto. |
