Description |
Red and white signature quilt. The quilt features thirty eight blocks along with one large block in the center. The smaller blocks are adorned with an embroidered Maple leaf in the center using red thread. Around the Maple leaf, there is a name under the stem followed by a series of handwritten names embroidered in a clockwise formation using red thread. In the center of the quilt, there is a large square with a depiction of the London Road United Church, embroidered using red thread. Above the image, the words "1927 London Road United Church, Rev. Jas Huron Porter" followed by fourteen signatures underneath the church, both embroidered using red thread. The center square has been defined with a red embroidered border. The background of the quilt is adorned with a diamond shaped quilting design. The quilt includes cotton batting and has been finished with a thin red border along the edges. |
