Provenance |
The donor started work at Polymer July 13, 1962 and retired in August 2001. He obtained this item while working there. Polymer was a Canadian crown corporation established in 1942 at Sarnia to produce artificial rubber to substitute rubber supplies that were cut off during WWII. The corporation was renamed Polysar in 1976 and the rubber component became a subsidiary, Polysar Rubber Corp until 1988. In 2005 Bayer AG spun off chemical divisions, including most of the Sarnia site, creating LANXESS AG. Lanxess and Saudi Aramco signed an agreement in 2016 to form a joint venture. Arlanxeo was formed from the names of both partners, with the ending "EO" referring to elastomers, its products. |
