Pair of decorative brass candlesticks. a, c) Brass candlesticks consists of a round structure adorned with a scroll design, mounted on a square base. The column is grooved above the leave design that adorns the top and bottom of the candlesticks. b,d) Short, cylindrical shape structure with a wide grooved rim. There is a scalloped edge that fits on the cup of the candle holders. |

The true candlestick was a holder of turned brass. These were as much ornamental as useful and not likely to have been found in a settler's home. |
