Description |
A collection of 15 butterflies in a wood frame. They are arranged with a row down the middle and three different matching butterflies on either side. On the outside rows, the top butterfly is blue and brown, the middle one is a white and brown swallowtail butterfly and the bottom one is small, brown with a yellow stripe. The top two of the middle row are the same, which are black with two yellow stripes and one blue stripe. The fourth butterfly down is iridescent blue. Below are two identical black and white butterflies and the other three in the row are variations of white and brown. They were caught and collected by international driller John and his wife, Vola Braybrook while on contract in El Centro, Colombia in 1940. The wood frame has a carved ornate edge. |
