Description |
Colourful quilt showcasing a Pinwheel pattern. The quilt features 30 square blocks that are 20 cm long and 20 cm wide. They are made out of fabric from c. 1920 - 1940. Each block has eight triangular pieces of cotton. When arranged using two sets of alternative colours, a pinwheel pattern is formed. The design includes 13cm yellow sashing with a wide yellow trim around the outer edge. The sashing features two similar quilting in a series of overlapping ovals that create a chain pattern. One set runs vertically, while the other set is horizontal. The quilt has a light cotton batting and cotton sashing. The cotton backing is yellow in colour. |
