Description |
Canadian militia cap (a) and crest (b) for the 27th St. Clair Borderers. a) Blue felt cap with red edging. Black ribbon with a design of maple leaves that intertwine. Two gold buttons on both sides of the cap with a beaver on them and the words "Military Canada". The black visor has become brittle and cracked. On the inside there is a label with the words "size 13 1/2" and has dark pink lining. There is also a strip of leather which goes the circumference of the cap with the name "E.G. Coultis, Lieut.". In addition to this, there is also a rectangular piece of felt in the inside behind the visor. The braid on the buttons is missing. b) The crest is made up of a triangular shaped material with a design. At the top, there is a stitched design-crown with a circle in the middle with St. Clair Borderers, a beaver and at the bottom the words "Semper Paratuset Fidelis". |
