Description |
Tall narrow glass oil bottle that is one Imperial quart. On the side of the bottle is an embossed shell logo, the words "Shell Motor Oil" and the words "Shell Oil Company of Canada Limited." At the front top at the neck is a perpendicular arrow with 'One Imperial quart' around the neck. Around the bottom of the bottle is 'Guaranteed delivery one Imperial quart'. On the bottom is, 'Design reg'd 8 1933'. |

From App's garage in Oil Springs. W.H. Apps Shell Garage, 4590 Oil Springs Line, Oil Springs, was built prior to 1931 as Wilbert stored the 1931 fire truck for one year while the new community hall was being built in 1932, as it incorporated the fire hall. Wilbert along with his father Frank and his brother Herb ran the business for many years. Later his son Don was a mechanic on the site and they ran the business until 1961 when they moved operations to their new Shell garage at the west end. |
