All steel letter opener with J A MacKenzie c. embossed on the handle. The blade is polished and the handle is natural steel that is now dark. There is a guard between the blade and the handle. |

Used by John A. MacKenzie of the Oil Well Supply Co. in Petrolia. The machine shop came into being in 1864 when it began manufacturing and supplying drilling and pumping equipment to the new oil fields by Hector MacKenzie and his sons. |
