Description |
Taupe coloured flapper style wedding dress. The dress is sleeveless which is defined by light brown piping along the arm holes. This detail is also present along the v-shaped neckline and the hem of the skirts. The dress is made of lace in a straight cut style with a drop waist. Below the waist, multiple tiers of fabric have been Incorporated into the dress to create volume. On the right hand side of the dress, there is single piece of fabric noticeably longer than the hem which adds to the volume. A silk slip has been attached on the inside of the dress which ends at the knee. The top part is transparent while the remainder of the dress is made of taupe silk with a heart shaped neckline. |

Claudia Thompson wore this lace dress when she married Hubert Gillett on June 15th, 1929. She was born August 16, 1904 in Petrolia. Claudia was an accomplished musician in both piano and violin. |
