Provenance |
Silverwood's Dairy was founded in London, Ontario in 1928. They bought out many smaller dairies and opened locations across Canada. Silverwood's came to Lambton County in May 1930. When Silverwood's Dairy first came to Lambton County, milk was delivered by horse-drawn wagons. This continued until the last horses were retired in 1963. In November 1967, fire swept through the Sarnia plant. They were handling more than 450,000 kilograms of milk per month and the operation was devastated. Special milk deliveries arrived from London that morning to avoid local shortages. |
