Description |
Square, commemorative plaque honoring the Iranian Hostage Crisis. The plaque is wooden with tapered edges and a white ceramic tile in the center. The tile includes the year "1820" in gold letters and features a black, white and blue illustration of a bridge, a river with a boat, a farm and industrial buildings. The depiction includes a golden border with the words "Saint Clair County" and "Michigan" are written inside. On the bottom of the plaque, there is a gold plate engraved with the following inscription "Thank You Canada. Iranian Hostage Crisis. February 1980. Chairman John W. Hurley". |

This plaque was awarded to the citizens of the County of St. Clair for giving refuge to six American citizens that escaped the U.S.A in order to avoid being captured within the United States Embassy. |
