This is a printed scan from the 15th page of the September 24th, 1958 addition of The Sarnia Observer. The paper looks over two photographs, both done by Kilbreath studio. The article on the left, titled "Recent Rites", details the marriage of Jane Dam (nee Sytsma or Seistma) and James Dam, officiated by Rev. A.B.C. Hofland at the Second Christian Reform Church. The image above the article shows the couple standing next to each other in front of a plain wall. Jane is on the left, wearing a tool covered wedding dress and holding a bouquet of white flowers. James is on the right, standing slightly behind Jane. He is in a dark suit, a white collared shirt, and a patterned tie, a white flower pined to his lapel. The article on the right, titled "Niagara Honeymoon", details how the recently married couple of Marie Mitchell (nee Watters) and D. Mitchell have just returned from their honeymoon in Niagara Falls. They were married by Rev. D.D. Jones. The image above the article is of their wedding day, Marie standing on the left and linking arms with D. Mitchell on the right. Marie is in an ankle length, poof skirt wedding dress, holding a bouquet of white flowers. D. Mitchell is wearing a dark suit, a white collared shirt, and a patterned tie, a white flower pined to his lapel. Due to the quality of the newspaper, details on both images are obscured. On the top of the paper, a pencil written note reads, "Sarnia Observer, Wednesday Sept 24, 1958 p.15". |
