Matte black and white photo of Major C.O. Fairbank in his uniform and hat. In this upper body photo, only his head and shoulders are visible and he is facing the camera. His head and his gaze, however, are turned to the left. The photo fades out around him. On the back, at the top, right, and left edges, there is a blue and white decorative tape. An associated paper with a biography reads, "Major Charles Oliver Fairbank, M.D., 1914. Born July 21, 1858, Niagara Falls, Ont. One of first eighteen students Royal Military College, Kingston, June 1, 1876. Graduated 1880. Recieved Commission R.A., 1880. Major 70th Batt., C.E.F., August 27, 1915; overseas April, 1916. To front as Lieutenant 18th Batt. In trenches some time. Returned to Canada, November, 1916, for instructional work." |
