Photograph album with black, textured hardcover and black paper pages on which photographs are glued. Features black and white photographs and tintypes. Photographs are unidentified, but show members of the Goeck family, working and living on a farm, street scenes and parades (Dominion Day) in Petrolia, beach scenes (possibly in Sarnia where Ida (Goeck) Bathe (John Goeck Sr.'s daughter) lived), baseball, and Peoples Grocery. Oil derricks are visible in the background of several photos. |

Items in donation include photographs of the Goeck Family, including John Goeck Sr. (1844-1942) who was born in Bavaria, Germany and came to Canada in 1852. He eventually worked as a section foreman for the railway branch from Wyoming to Petrolia. He lived with his son, John James Goeck (1884-1957) on Blind Line. Photos also feature his children and grandchildren. |
