Glossy black and white photo of (from left to right) Lawrence Edmonds and Ernie Palmer. Lawrence is a young boy, wearing a polo, and is sitting on Ernie's leg. He is smiling at Ernie, while holding a dollar bill with him. Ernie is an older man wearing a suit and glasses, and is smiling at Lawrence, while holding the dollar bill with him. This is an upper body photo of both. Written on the back is "Sarnia Observer Jan 18/62 pg. 13." The caption published with the photo reads, "Lawrence Edmonds, of 1602 Lake Shore, has shown his interest in the location of a 6,000 - class CNR locomotive in Bayview Park as a railway museum. He learned that a committee was engaged in raising funds for the museum and that retired railwayman Ernie Palmer, of Bryn Mawr apartments, was one of the committee. So Lawrence called on Mr. Palmer and made a personal contribution of one dollar." |
