Matte black and white full body portrait of the Gascoine Family. From left to right: Harry, Sarah, Leone, John. They are standing outside on a sidewalk, with a buggy on the street behind them, and a few bare trees. Harry is wearing overalls and a newsboy cap, while looking at the camera. Sarah is wearing a white shirt with a white blouse, and is looking to the right. Sarah is also holding Leone, who is wearing a dark jacket and is looking at her mother. John is wearing a dark suit with a newsboy hat, and is looking down to the right. Written on the back is "John and Sarah Gascoine. Boy died at 14. Baby Leone married Arthur Winder. Possibly Gem Avenue - Petrolia west side. Early 1900s." There are two copies of this photograph, one of which is lighter and has creases copied onto the bottom right. The other has a horizontal crease from the left edge, and a section missing on the right side. |
