Black and white cabinet photograph of a view of No. 1 oil well in Venezuela. Well was started in 1913, flowing oil on August 1914. Photo shows derrick in the distance with a crowd gathered beneath. Drillers of the well were: George Rawlings, Frank Racher, Andy Wolsey; Superintendent of drilling was George W. Brake. The backboard is green with a gold scrolled border around the photograph. |
