Provenance |
James (Jim) Webb was born in Petrolia in 1900, the son of Fred and Lizzie Webb. After his education in Petrolia, he started his working career at the Bank of Toronto in Petrolia. He then went to work for the Canadian Oil Co. Ltd. at the Petrolia Refinery. He joined the Imperial Oil Co. Ltd. at the Sarnia Refinery in 1926, and in 1927 joined the Imperial Oil foreign service. James then went to Talara, Peru for the International Petroleum Company, a subsidiary of Imperial Oil. While he was there, he married Olive Peacock of Petrolia, and they had two children, Lynn and Fred in Peru. He retired to London, Ontario in 1954 and shortly after in 1956 they moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. |
