This unusual double exposure photo was taken at Government dock as the Manchester City, of the Manchester Lines was taken on a cargo of white Beans. The Manchester City left Government Dock, Monday at 11 p.m., for the head of the lakes. She will at this port on her return trip for additional Chemical Valley cargoes. Despite the size of foreign vessels, cargo continues to pile up at the local wharf here, Capt. Alex McNeill, Harbormaster said. The photograph features the Manchester City boat, docked at the pier. On the side of the ship the word liners can be read. On the pier pallets that are loaded with bags of beans can be seen. A small forklift can be seen lifting one of the pallets. The forklift is the brand Clark. It is a small forklift, about the size of a driving lawnmower. The forklift has a small steering wheel. A young man is driving the forklift. He is wearing a jacket and jeans. His hair is styled in a comb over. the double exposure means that there are various pieces of the image layered over one another. In the bottom right corner of the image a the numbers 27-30 can be seen, alongside some kind of lined diagram. The letters E and R, are also on visible in the bottom left corner of the image. In the top left portion of the image, the outline of a man can be seen. It is unclear who he is or what he is doing. |
