Black and white photograph from the collection of Robert McCrie of 12 men sitting in two rows outside of a stone building. The men are all dressed in white wearing or holding various styles of hats. Written on the back: Robert D. McCrie seated on the left in back row 1920 in Burma with his drilling crew. Note: We believe the information on the back is incorrect and is Robert McCrie's brother, James, taken on Jubal Island, Egypt in 1911. From an identical photo OMC 2003.008.031 from the William Gillespie collection the drillers are identified, back row left to right: James McCrie, James Polley, Elmer Kerby, William Campbell, James Candhish and William Gillespie. Jubal Island, Red Sea, Egypt, September 15, 1911. Drillers in Egypt. |
