Handwritten letter from James Schroder, Portsmouth, Ontario dated June 14, 1882 to Alex (Johnston of Holland Landing and later Oil Springs) He writes about his oil venture in Oil Springs. Joe got the Deed for the half acre lot he bought for him the end of April and two good wells were drilled. He says Joe is buying and selling crude and has a shipping tank at Oil City and has bought more lots at Oil Springs, which are going fast costing $50 a lot. |
