Handwritten letter from James Schroder, Portsmouth, Ontario dated May 25, 1886 to Alex (Johnston of Oil Springs). James Schroder is his father-in-law and it seems that Alex is overseeing his oil property in Oil Springs. He asks him to give him the number of barrels (of oil) he sends to the Tanking company so he will know his monthly production (from his oil property in Oil Springs). He tells him that it has been cold, and is hopeful that frost will not injure their fruit trees. He expects that Phillis (his daughter) received the parcel of bulbs. He and his wife send their kind love to all of their loved ones in Oil Springs. |
