Advertising card for Ohiraya & Co. of Yokohama, Japan. Advertising all kinds of silks and embroideries. The top half is in English on a brown background and the bottom half is in French on a black background. To the right side is an image of a Japanese woman, wearing a kimono, holding an embroidered white cloth. On the back is written: Samples silks, freight=, Insurance=, Duty 35%, c. Obtained as a memento by International Driller, Robert Rawlings who drilled in Sumatra on two contracts between 1880 and 1902 stopping in Japan on his return voyage. |
