Letter written June 6, 1917 at Ireland by International Driller, John Growder to his sister (Annie) in order to let her know that he has been receiving her letters and that everything is going well with him. John has just recently started a job drilling for a company in Ireland and has been there for about three months and feels as if he will be there for a while still. John tells his sister that the weather in Ireland is cold in the winter but it is currently very nice there and he says that the landscape of the country itself is just beautiful. John also comments on how high the prices are over there but then states that the prices of goods everywhere have been rising. A transcription of this document is available in the media file and the accession folder. |
