Copy of a drawing of a drilling rig with a wood structure surrounding it. 'Rawlings Chatham Ont." is printed on a part of the drilling rig. It was sketched by local artist, Barb Perrin. The donor's husband, David "Stewart" Rawlings is the grandson of International Driller, George Rawlings. After 26 years working internationally, George returned and joined his father-in-law in 1932, Mr. Stover, in his drilling business, Stover Drilling Co. in the Chatham area. After the death of Mr. Stover it became the Rawlings Drilling Co. Stewart and his father, Frank, followed in the family business. |
