An article in the Petrolia Advertiser-Topic dated September 16, 1981 of fires that happened in Oil Springs in August 1931. Two images show the Oil Springs Elevator on fire and tells the tale of how the Petrolia Fire Department would not respond since it was outside the town. A fire in Oil Springs a week later of Capes General Store and home, the town hall, library and lock-up cells were assisted by the Petrolia Fire Department because of the uproar created after the prior fire. |
