Part a: Green hard cover book with dark green detailing around the spine and in the corners of the front cover. The title is impressed into the center of the cover, and in the bottom left corner "No. 451" is impressed, both in dark green. On the inside, there are lined pages, which feature the minutes of the Board of Health for the village of Oil Springs from 1906 to 1944 in varying ink colours and handwritings. Only about half of the book is full. Part b: Notice from the "Municipal Council, Oil Springs, Ontario" stating "that the contract for removing the night-soil be awarded to H.Waldeck of Petrolia at 50 cents per barrel...." It is not dated, but is signed by D.A. Thompson, moved by Gordon Lewis and seconded by Fred Winnett. Part c: Handwritten on the back of an official "Municipal Council, Oil Springs, Ontario," is a motion passed by the Oil Springs Board of Health stating "that the Board of Health after hearing the M.O.H.'s report on the present system of water supply strongly recommends to the Council the necessity and advice [?] of procuring a [?] and sanitary water supply. Carried." This is moved by G.A. Gordon, seconded by John? Kitchen and dated "Aug 21/44." |
