The front cover is an illustration of a pillar wound with a film reel of different photos of employees. On the back cover is the mailing label for Melvin L Harris. Polymer was a Canadian crown corporation established in 1942 in Sarnia to produce artificial rubber to substitute rubber supplies that were cut off during WWII. The corporation was renamed Polysar in 1976 and the rubber component became a subsidiary, Polysar Rubber Corp. In 2005 Bayer AG spun off chemical divisions, including most of the Sarnia site, creating LANXESS AG, also of Germany. Lanxess and Saudi Aramco signed an agreement in 2016 to form the joint venture. Arlanxeo was formed from the names of both partners, with the ending "EO" referring to elastomers, its products. |
