Capacity of Underground Storage Tanks: Given in Approximate Imperial Gallons for Each Inch in Depth |
Scope & Content |
Table chart that was used to measure the capacity of underground oil storage tanks. This table was designed "for your guidance when using your gauge stick." This table was designed to help people and the instructions listed on this table are as follows: "Measure with your gauge stick the depth of the gasoline in your tank, (the stick is marked in inches). Find the size of your tank in the first column on this sheet: say for example you have a 1000 gallon tank, which is the second item on this table. Then locate the column numbered with the number of inches you found in the tank. If you found eight inches in your tank you will see that you now have about 105 gallons of gasoline to tide you over until you can get another supply. Neither the gauge stick nor this table can be used to check up your purchases, or your sales, as the measurements given are only approximate. The chart was created by Hassan Steel Fabricators Limited located at London Ontario. |
