Jackson Hardware, Oil & Gas Well Supplies, Coal, Lumber & Builders' Supplies. Oil Springs, Ont. The S.G. Jackson Hardware In 1880 Van Tuyl and Fairbank opened the hardware in Oil Springs. Samuel Gray Jackson managed the hardware from 1884 until he took ownership in 1925 renaming the business, S.G. Jackson Hardware. Upon Jackson's death Laura Jewel and Walter (Duffy) Atkin acquired the business and operated it as the Atkin and Jewell Hardware from 1951 to 1972. Both Laura and Duffy previously worked for Jackson. |
